Flocculants are chemicals that are used to promote flocculation by causing colloids and other suspended particles in liquids to aggregate forming a floc. Flocculants are used in water treatment processes to improve the sedimentation or filterability of small particles. FLOCCULANT A25 is high performance anionic flocculant based on a medium molecular weight a polyacrylamide copolymer. FLOCCULANT A25 is water-soluble white powder.

FLOCCULANT A25 is a medium molecular weight anionic polyacrylamide flocculant.

Principal uses FLOCCULANT A25 has found application in a wide variety of mineral processing operations including the following:

·        For industrial wastewater treatment, especially for suspended particles, coarse, high concentration, particles with a positive charge, water, pH value is neutral or alkaline waste water, such as iron and steel plants, electroplating plants and waste water, waste metallurgical, coal washing waste water such as sewage treatment works well.

·        As a flocculating agent, mainly used in industrial solid-liquid separation process, including settlement, to clarify, concentrate and sludge dewatering processes. Applications for all the major sectors are: Urban sewage treatment, paper, food processing, petrochemical, metallurgical processing, Dyeing and the sugar and all kinds of industrial wastewater treatment.

·        In the paper industry can be used as dry strength agents, retention agent, filter aid. They can be greatly improved as paper quality, enhance the physical strength of paper and reduce the loss of fiber, can also be used in the treatment of white water at the same time, and in the deinking process can play a significant flocculation.

·        In the mining, coal mining industry can be used for waste water, coal washing waste water clarifier.

·        They Can be used for dyeing wastewater, leather wastewater, oily wastewater treatment, so that turbidity removal, decolonization, to achieve the emission standards.

·        For oilfield water plugging agent profile, three used oil displacement agent.

·        Used as paper additives, PAM and widely used in the paper can be used as dispersant long fiber paper, wet and dry enhancer, retention, filter aid and the flocculent papermaking wastewater.

Dosage depends upon the application but normally lies in the range 2–200 g/tonne of dry substrate flocculated.


Using method of the Polyacrylamide

Before using, the solid polyacrylamide should be dissolved into the solution with the concentration at 0.0.05% to 0.5%, in order to speed up the effectiveness of the polyacrylamide. In the dissolution process, you need to stir the water in the dissolving tank while paying strict attention to the adding of the solids, that is to make sure the uniform spreading of the polyacrylamide into the water, without generating the solid polyacrylamide blocks in the water.

Since in the dissolving process, the long time and severe stirring may damage the performance of the polyacrylamide, the recommended stirring speed of the mixer to dissolve the polyacrylamide should be around 20 rpm to 200 rpm.

Since if the polyacrylamide solution stands for long time, its performance will be reduced gradually based on the water quality situation, the aqueous solution should be used in three days after it is modulated.
