In most mineral processes where there is a need for sedimentation, filtration or centrifugation then a flocculant or coagulant (also referred to as polymers) is often desired. The FLOCCULANT A range offers a broad spectrum of products ensuring maximum performance and cost efficiency in these applications. Anionic flocculants are obtained either by hydrolysis of the amide groups on a polyacrylamide chain or by copolymerization of the polyacrylamide with a carboxylic or sulphonic acid salt. The anionicity of these copolymers can vary between 0% and 100% depending on the ratio of the monomers involved. The main characteristics of the copolymers are: Molecular weight: 3 to 30 million, viscosity at 5 g/l: between 200 and 2800 cps. They relate to water treatment and mining industry. Water treatment chemicals, anionic PAM: It is widely used in waste water treatment of chemical industry, municipal sewage treatment, such as coal washing, mineral processing, metallurgy, iron and steel industry and electronic industry. It is also used in oil industry to enhance oil recovery which is widely used. In addition, it can be used as paper additives and textile pulp agent. Mineral processing chemicals, for mineral processing, we normally choose anionic polyacryl amide and nonionic polyacryl amide according to the different geological conditions. Flocculation is a chemical water treatment technique typically applied prior to sedimentation and filtration (e.g. rapid sand filtration) to enhance the ability of a treatment process to remove particles. Flocculation is gentle stirring or agitation to encourage the particles thus formed to agglomerate into masses large enough to settle or be filtered from solution. Polyacrylamides are water-soluble linearity high polymers. It is almost insoluble in benzene, ether, lipid and acetone and other common organic solvent and soluble easily in water. With flocculability, thickening, shear performance, resistance-diminishing performance and dispersivity, it is widely used in oil extraction, mineral separation, coal washing, metallurgy, chemical industry, papermaking, spinning, sugar manufacturing, medicine, environmental protection, building materials and agriculture industries.
